Colombia has been a member of the ILO since 1919. The country has ratified 61 Conventions, of which 52 are currently in force, including eight of the ten fundamental Conventions.

The ILO team in Colombia contributes to the promotion of decent work and social justice through technical assistance activities with the country's tripartite partners: government, employers' and workers' organizations.

ILO actions in Colombia are coordinated from the ILO Office for the Andean Countries.
